Ra'jel was an ancient Taelon who was the sire of the Synod itself. He was well aware of future events that would bring about the restoration of the Atavus and put into motions such events; much to his eternal shame. By the 21st century, he was partly restored when the Taelons and Jaridians were reconstitueted into the Atavus. Being the last of the Taelon race and keeper of their consciousness, he was determined to stop his predatory precursor species from conquering the Earth as it had done so previously.
